Terrace Hotel Facilities

 

Most of the Terrace Hotel bedrooms have a private shower, toilet and washbasin, all have colour T.V. as well as tea and coffee making facilities.

All rooms have central heating and individual heaters if requested.

There is a computer for guests use within our spacious guests lounge. There is also WIFI throughout the building.

Our rooms are mostly spacious and all enjoy the original features of Georgian architecture – high ceilings with cornices and most have the original fireplaces.

 

All prices quoted are inclusive of a full Scottish breakfast.

 

A typical menu includes –

  • Fruit Juices : Grapefruit , apple , orange, grapefruit segments
  • Wide selection of cereals
  • Variety of Teas and Coffee including decaffeinated
  • Full Breakfast : eggs, grilled bacon, fried sausages, grilled tomato, mushrooms
  • Also available : Porridge, Oatcakes, Kippers

 

Our hard working staff are available 24 hours a day to offer advice and assistance should any problems arise.

Attractions near the Terrace Hotel

Edinburgh is world famous for its landmarks and culture. It is a city with far too much to see and do to be able to list all its attractions here. However, below is a just a small taste of some of the places you simply cannot afford to miss during your visit!

A visit to Edinburgh would not be complete without visiting Edinburgh Castle. Situated on top of volcanic rock, it is visible from various points throughout the city. Don’t miss the one ‘o clock gun, situated on the northern side of the Castle and fired daily. Originally fired to allow boats on the Firth of Forth to set their clocks, it is a tradition that continues. The Castle is open daily during April through to September and guided tours are available.

Situated close to the castle is the Scotch Whisky Heritage Centre for those who fancy a real taste of Scotland! A tour of whisky-making is available daily in 8 languages.

August is one of Edinburgh’s busiest period with both the Edinburgh Festival (the world’s biggest Arts festival) and the Military Tattoo taking place. Festival time is Edinburgh’s busiest period and the streets are filled with performers from around the world.

The Palace of Holyroodhouse is situated at the end of the Royal Mile and is the Queen’s official residence in Scotland. Mary, Queen of Scots, also lived here during the 1560′s.

Climb the steps to the top of the breathtaking Scott Monument located on Princes Street to enjoy views across the city and beyond. This spectacular gothic monument dates back to 1840 and commemorates Edinburgh-born writer, Sir Walter Scott.

Near the hotel lie Holyrood Park and Arthurs Seat (an extinct volcano) – which offers magnificent views over the city for those who are feeling energetic! Holyrood Park is Edinburgh’s largest natural park and is truly scenic with lochs and sea views.

Edinburgh has so much to offer, one visit is never enough!
